Anodizing is the method of providing an anodic coating on aluminum to make them stronger, durable and able to resist corrosion and wear. There are many methods of anodizing aluminum of which one import one is the Jigging method of anodizing. The parts are held on the jig while electricity passes from the jig to them. To achieve the required anodic coating thickness, the operators must ensure that there is a strong electric current flowing between the aluminum part and the jig holding it. The jigs can be of either aluminum or titanium material. However, there are certain conditions and steps you must take to ensure that you achieve a proper coating after the whole process.

The note-worthy attributes of chromium as a metal used for electrodepositing are the decorative and protective properties it possesses. Chromium, when deposited, can resist tarnish, scratches, wear and tear as well as corrosion. There are two chromium plating processes namely hexavalent chromium electrodepositing and trivalent chromium process. The electrolyte of chromium hexavalent needs a means of getting chromium and other elements that quickens the plating process for its electrodepositing activities. However, the trivalent chromium process is a safer and efficient technique introduced in the middle of 1970 to wipe out many of the problems created by the former method give chromium plating a better outlook.

There are many electroplating methods available for plating metal parts of which the common amongst them is barrel plating and rack plating. Each way has unique characteristics and can deliver quality finishing for metal parts. Barrel plating is the best method for handling high-volume projects in the shortest time possible while rack plating is best suited for delicate metal parts or those parts with complex geometry so that uniform coating can be applied on the parts. It is not always easy to choose the electroplating method that will deliver a good result. However, if you consider things like the nature of the project, the size of the project, the finishing requirement and other factors, it will be obvious on which plating method is suitable for your project.
